Award providing students with an opportunity to work alongside well known ceramicists at the International Ceramics Festival, Aberystwyth. Students are invited to submit proposals for a project that must be linked to ceramics in some way. This could include building a structure, a particular type of kiln or even a performance. Applications are now invited for the new Artists’ Residency Programme at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Successful artists will be based for a period of either 3 or 6 months in newly built studios. An opportunity to work alongside some of the most well respected demonstrators in the world during the International Ceramics Festival, Aberystwyth, Wales. Student helpers are required to assist demonstrators, staff on the front desk, help set-up exhibitions and cup sale, assist with kiln building, firings and staged events, organise equipment and materials and for front of house. Ceramics festival held at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on the campus of the University of Wales on the mid-Wales coast. Since it began in 1987 the three-day festival has grown to become the UK's leading ceramics event. It offers teachers, students, ceramic artists, collectors, working potters and amateurs the chance to meet and study the work of distinguished, internationally known potters and ceramicists from Wales, the UK and around the world. The Festival attracts about 800 people who attend lectures, watch practical demonstrations and visit special exhibitions over three days.
