Established in 2004, Jatkaproject is a non-profit contemporary art organisation based between the Czech Republic and London. The Czech site, a disused abattoir or ?atka? in the UNESCO town of Cesky Krumlov, is formed of 12 rooms with original features of stables, production and refrigeration rooms that act flexibly as studio, exhibition and living space. The London site is home to the archive of past events and artist portfolios and serves as an exhibition space. On the curatorial residency programme, each year a curator will programme a series of events and exhibitions that encourages discussion and exchange of ideas between international and local practitioners. Artists and architects are invited to live and make work on the site, responding to the new context. The residency will usually result in an exhibition that is accompanied by activities such as talks, screenings and workshops, in order to present audience with international artists and their practice.
