The European Media Art Network was founded in 2007 by four key European media art institutions – Impakt (Holland), InterSpace (Bulgaria), VIVID (Great Britain) and Werkleitz (Germany) – with the support of the European Union's Culture 2007 programme. Within the framework of the 'European Media Artists in Residence Exchange' programme (EMARE), this new network annually awards production grants to outstanding European media artists. EMAN furthermore serves research into and the production, presentation and distribution of media art in Europe.
Across Europe
The European Media Art Network and its partners are providing residencies in either Mexico, England, Germany, France and the Netherlands with support of the European Commission's Culture 2007-2013 Programme. European Artists can apply for a residency at Centro Multimedia in Mexico City and Centro de Arte y Nuevas Technologias in San Luis Potosi. All artists participating in 2012 and 2013 will take part at the final exhibition as part of the Transitio_MX Festival in Mexico City.
