QUAD in Derby is issuing a final call-out to all filmmakers and photographers based in the East and West Midlands to be part of a major cross region exhibition in 2012. FORMAT International Photography Festival is the UK's leading biennale of contemporary photography and related media. It takes place in Derby, UK, and contains exhibitions, portfolio reviews, workshops, commissions, conference, screenings, talks, photo collectives, publications and is an international meeting place for photography professionals and enthusiasts from across the globe. In 2011 the festival will be titled 'Right here, right now- Exposures from the public realm'. Artists are invited to submit proposals for exhibitions or events including new or existing works for exhibition or presentation as part of the Exposure section of Format11. This event is organised by QUAD in partnership with Derby City Council and Derby University and will be held in 30 venues throughout Derby city centre ranging from temporary gallery and non-gallery spaces including bars and cafes to civic and other public access buildings. The theme of this exhibition is 'right here, right now'- Exposures from the public realm.
