A vacancy has arisen for a job share partner for our OSD Pathway Leader on our Foundation Diploma. Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in art, design and crafts for more than 150 years and has a national and international reputation based on the achievements of past students. The institute now wants to encourage children to study Art and Design from an early age and help them realise that, in the long term, there are a wide range of future careers and opportunities in Art and Design. To this end a Children’s Art School is being launched to target children (9-18 years) to apply for HE and FE programmes. This will be a fee paying provision run on a Saturday morning and during school holidays. The post holder will develop content and assist in the delivery of the Children’s Art School and must be able to teach on one of the programmes. They will be responsible for giving support and advice to staff and students associated with this provision. The post holder will initially be working 9¼ hours per week on a Fixed Term Contract of up to 12 months, the hours may increase as the School grows, and if the venture is successful it is anticipated that this will become a permanent role.
