The Barns-Graham Travel Award 2012 [ 13 June 2012 ]

The Barns-Graham Travel Award provides a travel and research opportunity for graduating and postgraduate students. The award is funded by the Barns-Graham Charitable Trust and administered by the Royal Scottish Academy and consists of:

RSA RESIDENCIES FOR SCOTLAND [ 1 September 2009 ]

The Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture (RSA) is delighted to announce the forthcoming launch of its RSA RESIDENCIES FOR SCOTLAND programme in collaboration with the Scottish Arts Council. With a total budget of some £45,000, this exciting new scheme will provide funded residency opportunities with partner provider venues across Scotland enabling contemporary artists a period of research. The RSA residency initiatives have often acted as a stepping-stone between art school and fledgling career for many now distinguished Scottish artists; providing the opportunity to work in an environment conducive to the research and creation of new work.  Read full listing…

RSA, the Alastair Salvesen Art Scholarship [ 12 January 2009 ]

Now in its 20th year, the painting & travel award of up to £10,000 includes a solo exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy. Sponsored by the Alastair Salvesen Trust in association with the RSA, the Alastair Salvesen Art Scholarship is a major initiative intended to encourage young painters who have made the transition from college to a working environment.
