WHO: creative and enthusiastic freelance visual artists working with any media.
WHAT: a visual artist is sought to lead sessions at Hackney primary schools as part of Hackney Museum's 'Mapping the Change' project, a unique community engagement and history project about the people of East London and the impact of the Olympic and Paralympic Games on their lives. Artists will be responsible for sourcing all materials, delivering and documenting workshops, and taking part in meetings with Museum staff and external evaluators.
WHEN: part time position, during June and July 2011.
PAYMENTS: total budget is £2,050 including planning and delivery (equates to £20k–25k pro rata).
DETAILS: candidates must be fine art graduates with minimum two years experience delivering creative sessions in the classroom and some experience of working with a museum of heritage organisation. An interest in local history is essential and applications are particularly welcomed from Hackney residents.
