WHO: visual or digital artists based in the UK.
WHAT: the ‘Interactive Welcome’ is a unique opportunity for the main entrance space of a new school in Wolverhampton. Essential to the commission is student engagement and opportunities for students and staff to participate in artist-led activities during the ‘making’ process. The finished work has to be welcoming, warm, interactive and digital. The students of the school love to make short films and ideally the commission should enable uploading and/or incorporating their films, providing them with an opportunity to make new films for this special purpose.
WHEN: the installation Date is August 2012.
PAYMENTS: £18,000 including all materials, expenses and installation.
DETAILS: Penn Fields Special School in Wolverhampton is for children with a range of learning needs, with a population of 160 pupils aged between 4 and 16 years old. This new school is a stunning site-specific building with outstanding contemporary architecture.
