0.5 Pathway Leader – Foundation (Object and Spatial Design)

WHO: individual with a strong interest in contemporary design, a knowledge of 3D processes and materials, and methods of recording and investigating 3-dimensional structures in 2D both experimentally and technically will be essential. Previous experience of teaching at Foundation level would be an advantage, as would experience of working with a tutorial group and a knowledge of the breadth of provision in 3D Design at degree level. Applicants should hold a teaching certificate, or be willing to obtain one within 3 years, have gained a degree in a relevant subject and have substantial teaching experience.

WHAT: a vacancy has arisen for a job share partner for our OSD Pathway Leader on our Foundation Diploma. The duties of the post include teaching general visual language in the introductory stage of this one-year course and then taking a special responsibility in the Object and Spatial Design specialist area of the course in conjunction with a job share partner. There will also be administrative responsibilities in addition to the teaching. The OSD area normally deals predominantly with students who are interested in applying for degree courses in Product, Furniture, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Performance, Set/Stage Design, Craft Jewellery and Ceramics.

PAYMENTS: salary £26,276 - £27,873 pro-rata, 18.5 hours per week (Wed, Thu, Fri).
