Working With Young People With SEN
WHO: anyone in the cultural sector who would like to develop their skills and confidence in working with, and providing programmes and activities for, young people with Special Educational Needs.
WHAT: free, one day workshop exploring the advantages and challenges of working with young people with SEN. The workshop will identify barriers to participation experienced by young people in the cultural sector, and offer practical tools and techniques for removing, overcoming and avoiding them in project planning, design, implementation and evaluation. Information and advice will be given on current legislation, compliance with the DDA and good business practice.
WHEN: 28th October, 9.45am – 4pm.
CHARGES: free of charge.
DETAILS: Your participation in this activity will also entitle you to a free, one day school site visit in January 2011 to observe aspects of school life as a stimulus for investigating accessibility and individual action planning – available on a first come, first served basis.
