WHO: The event is open to artists' studio groups and organisations, studio providers, studio/workspace managers and developers, art and design lecturers, course leaders, university development officers, and representatives of higher education umbrella bodies.
WHAT: A platform for discussion and practical advice on how artists' studios and art colleges can foster mutually beneficial relationships to support sustainable studio developments and create a catalyst for dynamic creative communities.
WHEN: 6th December 2010, 10.30am-4.30pm
CHARGES: Free to NFASP members and £15 to non members.
DETAILS: With presentations from representatives from both art colleges and artists' studios, the event will address the issues and questions around: · The current state of the artists' studios sector, with the latest data from the 2010 NFASP Survey of Artists' Studio Groups and Organisations, presented by NFASP.· A Knowledge Transfer Partnership project between Acme Studios and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, in London, which is researching into the future space needs of artists and how these can be met by art colleges and studio providers.· Partnerships developing in Southampton, Leeds, Worcester and Cornwall between artists' studios and higher education institutions, which are developing artists' studios and spaces for exchange. · research into the future studio needs of artists and how these can be met by art colleges and studio providers.
