30 April 2012, 10am-4pm. Enabled through a partnership with Milton Keynes Gallery. This event has now taken place.

In this harsh economic climate, visual artists who’ve got interesting ideas to further their practice and careers are seeking out dedicated opportunities to learn about how to enhance their project pitching and fundraising techniques. In response to this, a-n The Artists Information Company that specialises in artists’ professional development and crowdfunding organisation Wedidthis are collaborating to deliver a new seminar programme designed to do just that.

Seminars are aimed at proactive visual artists and independent arts organisers/freelancers with at least five years of practice and professional experience behind them, an established or identified platform for their practice, who know their own professional development needs, already have new projects in mind and who would benefit from an immersive, interactive, full-day ‘workshop’ experience.

The next event is on Monday, 30 April 2012, enabled through a partnership with Milton Keynes Gallery. Only 20 places are available. Valued at £100, artists with a current a-n+AIR membership or arts freelancers with an individual a-nsubscription and who meet the application criteria can apply for a fully-subsidised place.

It is essential that you’re comfortable with using your computer and the internet for your communications, personal research and for taking part in self-determined learning, as this seminar including all communications and follow-ups will rely on these. You should also be familiar with using social media within your practice and have undertaken some initial basic research into crowdfunding.

Successful applicants can gain access to follow-up support including bursaries to enable further work on the best ideas and projects that emerge from the day’s workshops.

This seminar forms part of the a-n The Artists Information Company Granted professional development programme - more information at www.a-n.co.uk/granted
