Hans Borgonjon talks about how a Crafts Council Development Award has helped him to develop his ceramic practice and studio.
Hans Borgonjon is one of twelve artists that have been awarded the 2008 Crafts Council Development Award. His name is now part of an impressive role-call of over 1,500 makers that have received the award since its inception in 1973, including Tom Dixon, Thomas Heatherwick, Junko Mori and Pottinger & Cole. The award was set up to support new makers and help to establish the foundations for successful careers. It offers a grant of up to £7,500 and professional development support from the Crafts Council for a year. The award enables makers to invest in equipment to set up their practice for the future, allowing them to explore and push the boundaries of their work and create innovative and experimental work at a crucial time in their careers.
