Generator Projects is an artist-run exhibition and project space that was established in September 1996 in Dundee. The group states: "Our aims are to facilitate the demands of contemporary creative talent in the city, to support the artistic community in all its diversity and to provide a varied programme of exhibitions and events featuring the work of emerging and mid-career artists. We are a registered charity managed by a voluntary committee of artists that currently contains seven members. Committee members serve for a maximum of two years. Dundee is a city with an increasingly high national profile in the visual arts, and as the sole artist-run facility in the area, Generator Projects plays a valuable role, offering a project space that enables exhibitions, residencies and administration to take place and that houses reference material to assist with the preparation of proposals, research and the furthering of professional practice development. Over the past ten years Generator Projects has gained a reputation for developing a programme that promotes and fosters the work of talented emerging artists who would otherwise have difficulty showing their work in traditional gallery spaces. Our aim is to capitalise on experience gained and to continue to produce an ambitious and high quality range of events. " Generator has received three NAN Go and See bursaries in 2006, 2008 and 2010 for research and development.
