Elgin
A96 is an artists' collective based in Elgin, Moray, Scotland. Formed in 2007, A96 seeks to represent professional artists living and working anywhere along the corridor described by the A96 trunk road between Inverness and Aberdeen in the North of Scotland. A96 comprises graduate artists who have come together for mutual support, ideas, social interchange, and to exhibit individually or collectively. As well as forming links with other artists in the area, the A96 Collective aims to create a programme of events to help raise the profile of contemporary arts in their area, to provide a forum for artists to meet and discuss matters common interest, to undertake critiques of members' work, and to provide opportunities for members to exhibit on a regular basis. Membership is open to all practicing artists in the area and is also open to associate members - those who may not be artists themselves but who are interested in supporting the initiative.
