Glasgow Sculpture Studios (GSS) is a centre for research, production, presentation and the dissemination of contemporary sculptural practices. It supports a vibrant community of professional artists who focus on innovative sculptural techniques and practices. Members are at varying stages of their careers, from emergent and recent graduates through to established artists. The studios and sculpture facilities support a wide range of media including well equipped wood and metal workshops. The studios hold a slide index of members' work available to potential commissioners. Glasgow Sculpture Studios operates a membership scheme. Artist Membership is for professional practicing artists with a sculptural/materials-based practice, who require access to dedicated areas for the exploration and fabrication of artworks. Associate Membership is for artists, curators, writers, academics, historians, academics who do not require access to production facilities, but wish to tap into the intellectual dissemination of contemporary sculptural practices promoted and provided by the organisation. Members have access to specialised production facilities, communal areas and project spaces, research and IT facilities, staff advice, invitations to events and email newsletters.
