a-n Collections
As part of the publishing programme that marks a-n's 25th year we launched the a-n Collections series. Including anthologies of selected articles from the a-n archive contextualised by new commentary, and new themed texts selected by guest editors, a-n Collections examine and analyse the 'why, what and how' of artists' practice.
We welcome ideas and proposals for future a-n Collections.

Reports and summary resulting from a programme of dynamic, practice-led discussions on hospitality, space and contemporary art making, researched and directed by artist, curator and writer Sonya Dyer and jointly commissioned by a-n and Axis.

Collaborative relationships
For the first in the a-n Collections series, we asked Rohini Malik Okon to select from a range of interview-based articles first published in a-n Magazine 2003/05 that explore the mutuality of working relationships between artists and organisations.
In her introduction she considers what the material tells us about artists' working relationships and how visual arts practice is best supported.

Playing up
Focusing on public art, a-n Editor Gillian Nicol has selected key texts from a-n's archive and other important sources. Her introductory essay explores the nature of collaborative and creative processes involved in making artwork in the public realm. It identifies issues for the artists and arts professionals participating and raises concerns regarding our collective experience of public space.
