2005degrees unedited

We’ve had an excellent quality of response to ‘2005degrees unedited’, our critical showcase of graduate exhibitions and new writing. Christine Durrant reviewed Swindon College’s Drawing for Fine Art Practice including Deborah Edwardes’s “gentle narratives [that] conjure up a quiet surreal sadness” and Leonie Tarrant’s paintings that “playfully suspend abstract shapes, intercepting formal horizontal and vertical stripes with daring use of colour”; K Drummond describes Catriona Phillips’ work (of Gray’s School of Art and Design) as “beautifully-painted images, depicting strange mish-mashes of what might be psychological archetypes. Imagine James Ensor painting after a bit much sherry trifle”, and Bianca Winter feels that Nottingham Trent graduate Lori Amor’s work “stands head and shoulders above the crowd with her phenomenal installation Storeroom”. As the first of our forays into the unedited realms of publishing – where reviewers have been able to submit text for publication via the site and upload images of graduates work – we’d like to thank everyone who has taken part so far.
