This month sees the international art worlds focus turn to London.
The third Frieze Art Fair runs 21-24 October in Regents Park and features over 150 of the leading contemporary art galleries from around the world. The fair is accompanied by talks and specially commissioned artists projects including: German artist Michael Beutler, whose metal and paper sculptures penetrate the fairs marquee roof; American artist Andrea Zittel, accompanied by an entire hiking club from California; and Dutch artist Germaine Kruip, who is producing a moving light installation for the main entrance corridor. Amongst tour projects around the fair are: Berlin-based Jay Chung and Q Takeki Maeda conducting a non-tour of the fair without information or words; French artist Matthieu Laurettes fashion tours of the fair and its visitors; and tours of the fairs service areas by American artist Martha Rosler. An Artists Cinema in conjunction with Lux includes film and video works commissioned from a group of British sculptors new to the medium including Donald Urquart, Cathy Wilkes and Roger Hiorns.
