Bidoun
Bidoun is a quarterly magazine dedicated to the arts and culture of the Middle East and its diaspora. Launched in 2004, it provides a unique platform for fresh ideas and original work by contemporary artists, architects, designers and writers. Bidoun means ‘without’ in both Arabic and Farsi. As the editors state: “In our contemporary context, it connotes the statelessness in which many of us find ourselves – sometimes voluntary, sometimes not.”
Produced in New York, Bidoun is devoted to the most exciting developments in Arab and Iranian culture and provides a “fresh perspective [that] destroys prevailing stereotypes of the region”.
