Hosted by London College of Communications, the a-n HE Advisory Group meeting in April discussed current approaches to professional practice in art and design courses and the challenges for tutors and careers advisers, and to identify areas for wider exchange towards new projects. Concerned about the impact that the increase in student fees will have on applications and expectations on employability after graduation, the group noted the move to make www.a-n.co.uk free access to students via a licence agreement. a-n’s website and publications are recommended reading for art and design students on many UK courses (and also we hear as far away as Canada). Compass: guide to directions in art and design is already available as a free resource for HE subscribers.
