If you were the Arts Council, how would you do it?

Arts Council England needs your active participation in its research and consultation programme towards the future of public funding for the arts. Here we publish Peter Hewitt’s open invitation to take part in the final event of this year long process: arts debate open space at the National Youth Theatre, London 29 – 30 September. It’s a major programme of research and consultation we’ve been running for the last year to help plan the future of public funding for the arts. We’ve learned a huge amount so far, and we’ve found that opening up and listening in this way is helping the Arts Council become a stronger organisation. We’ve spoken with a wide range of people from the arts sector during the course of the arts debate, and we’re now keen to create opportunities for us to come together as a community of interest – to put aside organisational pressures and individual concerns and to work together towards some shared goals.
