In this month’s round-up we profile six open studio events.

Somerset Art Weeks 08 – Open Studios Event 13-28 September Showing their work in over 200 workspaces, this year’s Open Studios Event includes 250 artists. New venue The Monks Yard at Horton Cross is quickly establishing itself as a versatile space with areas for seminars, conferences and business hub as well as artists’ workshops in the next phase of the development. For this year’s event, the venue will host a taster exhibition showing some of Somerset Art Works’ artists including Frances Keenan who will be weaving willow, Sophie Harrison making felt and Kate Chidley’s Cowtoons. A number of the exhibiting artists will be showing and selling their work in the different spaces within the complex. Launch event: The Monks Yard, Ilminster, 12 September, 4 – 7pm. www.somersetartworks.org.uk HOST Open Studio Trail 20-21 September and 27-28 September Now in its fifth year, HOST highlights the plethora of nationally respected creative talents in Huddersfield and its surrounding areas.
