Recent art and design graduates from across the UK are showing at the Hub this autumn.
Including furniture, product and graphic design, glass, textiles and jewellery, the exhibition sets out to surprise and animate with its youthful, experimental and eco-conscious approach. Amongst selected work by sixteen new craft and design professionals are Lincoln university product design graduates Kelly Klein and Helen Bickford. Their piece Nightwatchman is a 'new chair made of old chairs' designed to stop night security staff from falling asleep and give healthy support to their backs. Lincoln furniture design graduate Alexander MacMaster is exhibiting his elegant, organically shaped Leaf Burst lamp. Danny Isaac's kitchenware series pokes fun at gender stereotypes with a series of cooking utensils made from elements from the workshop environment, whilst textile artist Debbie Smyth is pushing into the field of figurative art with her large-scale wall piece, a 'painting' of electricity pylons, made out of a myriad of strings and pins. Others exhibiting are Elizabeth Adebayo Antonia Chiappe, Ella Clocksin, Louise Graham, Graham Hearfield, Sarah Hinton, Hitomi Ifuku, Daniel Isaacs, Rachael Lusmore, Laura McKinley, Eleni Thoma, Ann-Louise Tingelof and Jamie Ward.
