Merging art, science and technology, Jessica Lloyd-Joness sculpture and installations explore the properties of colour and light through various materials and processes. Much of her work to date has evolved through investigation into a broad range of subject matter, which includes bioluminescence, geochemistry and the cosmos. Artworks reference fantastical aspects of the natural world through her use of illumination, optical illusion, sensory experience and dark space environments. Lloyd-Jones is an artist based in North Wales. She graduated with an MFA in Sculpture from Edinburgh College of Art in 2007 and has exhibited in museums, galleries, art festivals and sculpture gardens throughout the UK. Exhibitions include The British Glass Biennale, Stourbridge, 2005; Site, The Dick Institute, Kilmarnock, West Scotland, 2007; Time, Burghley Sculpture Garden, 2007; Magazine 07, Edinburgh Festival, 2007, Electric Blue, and OXO Tower Wharf, South Bank, London, 2008.
