Kate Brindley has been appointed as new Director of mima, successor to Godfrey Worsdale now at Baltic; she is currently Director of Museums, Galleries and Archives for Bristol City Council and leader of the South West Renaissance in the Regions programme. Curator Julia Bell has been appointed as North East region Turning Point Coordinator and is based at Baltic. At London-based arts and science agency Arts Catalyst, Elizabeth Lynch has become Chair and Jo Fells (who worked as an Editorial Assistant at a-n way back in the 90s) is Head of Marketing and PR. Jane Watt moved into her new role at a-n as Advisers and Tutors online editor in June; she was Knowledge Bank Commissions Editor for a-n during Gillian Nicol's maternity leave. Makers feature highly in new appointments to the Crafts Council, with Stephen Dixon, a ceramicist and Professorial Research Fellow in Contemporary Arts, Manchester Metropolitan University; jeweller and educator Dorothy Hogg, and ceramic artist Peter Ting now sitting alongside Executive Director of Tate Liverpool Andrea Nixon.
