AA2A has secured a further two years funding from Arts Council England through the Grants for the Arts lottery fund.
Providing visual artists and designer makers with the opportunity to undertake a period of research or realise a project using workshop and supporting facilities in fine art and design departments of Higher and Further Education institutions, AA2A will further expand the project to cover thirty-seven institutions, with seven new schemes around the country, offering a total of 148 placements. Now in its tenth year, AA2A is celebrating by inviting over 800 artists who have been supported by the 'mini residencies' programme to send images and tell their AA2A stories for inclusion in a virtual publication and archive. "Artist potter is how I tend to describe myself. However for the AA2A opportunity I am concentrating on drawing, but to further complicate a description of myself I am writing basic computer programmes to execute the drawings. I have been using the open source programming language called Processing. Basically the idea is to take a pixel for a walk ?or lots of pixels for a walk."
