Erica Donovan is a highly skilled and technically ambitious artist. Her prints primarily use observations from everyday situations to explore changes that we face through social interaction and technology. Her work holds reference to various strands of the life cycle of a product from concept and production through to the consumer cycle of buying and selling. She is fascinated by the constant changes in the way that skills, knowledge and products amongst other things are accessed, the ways in which they are digested and the ways in which these are passed on to others. She is curious in the way in which we improve upon various products that have been invented and the way in which these effect our notion of the past and our hopes and doubts for the future. Her practice also investigates the ways in which we face and process different notions of decision making and how this can be affected by opinions and recommendations. Donovan graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2009 with an MA in Printmaking. She is currently undertaking a residency at The Florence Trust, St Saviours in London until July 2010.
