Artists Access to Art Colleges (AA2A) offers 'mini placements' to artists and designer-makers, giving them 100 hours of access to workshops, libraries and lecture programmes in Higher and Further Education institutions. The project has almost doubled in size over the last two years and now has 37 Universities and Colleges taking part, giving a total of 148 placements this year. To celebrate ten years of the project AA2A are asking the 800 plus participants who have been on their schemes since 1999, to tell their stories through images and text. The aim is to provide an online archive which students will be able to access. The 20 submissions that best represent the quality and variety of AA2A over the years will be included in a digital publication to celebrate the tenth anniversary. This year, AA2A are also relaunching their networking site for their artists. After the success of the pilot website last year, 'dot biz' is being revamped to allow for its expansion. It will now include students at the host colleges as well as AA2A coordinators and administrators.
