Sadly, a-n's Director of Development, Louise Wirz is leaving to explore new territories. We're pleased to say, she's not been poached by another arts organisation, but intends to research and establish her own small business around herbal medicine. a-n has benefited greatly from Louise's insights, intelligence and commitment over seven years. Her belief in and advocacy for the need to adopt good practice within the visual arts and to position the arts within the creative industries has been a driving force in the company's development and it's status. Louise researched and wrote our submission to the 2005 DCMS Select Committee on Markets for Art that resulted in a-n's invitation, alongside Arts Council, VAGA, DACS and artists, to speak to the committee first-hand. She has developed sound working relationships with NCA, and through Visual Arts UK, our partnerships with other visual arts agencies including Artquest, VAGA, NFASP and Axis. Most recently, Louise has played a pivotal role in the evidence-gathering and consultation processes from which the CCS Visual Arts Blueprint for Workforce Development emerged.
