After The Disaster
OUTPOST is presenting an exhibition by AIR member Andrew Warstat: After The Disaster. The show combines ruined images and literary encounters with collections of objects produced through a process of photographing, printing, defacement and re-photographing. A text element references OUTPOSTs tradition of interviewing exhibiting artists in convoluted attempts to talk about writing.
A publication will accompany the exhibition, featuring Warstats photographic constructs alongside an essay by writer Mike Phillipson, who makes connections between Warstat, representation and survival.
Andrew Warstat is currently undertaking a PhD in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds. He has shown at the Cubitt Gallery, London and South Hill Park, Berkshire. He jointly curated Empty, Swept and Garnished in a derelict, town centre office block in Shrewsbury.
After The Disaster, OUTPOST, Norwich, 2-21 March, 12noon-6pm daily.
