Mission is to bring cultural education and esthetic engagement with contemporary issues to all people equally, and to create an environment where emerging artists can gather and share physical and intellectual resources. Offers 12 exhibitions a year, featuring local, national and international emerging artists, a wide variety of educational cultural events such as interactive public art projects, performances, talks, on and off-site film screenings, portfolio reviews and public usage based on the stated needs of the community.

Open Call for First Time Solo Exhibition [ 1 July 2011 ]
Aferro Gallery is a community driven art space where emerging artists can gather and share physical and intellectual resources. Artists who have not yet had a solo exhibition are invited to submit bodies of work for consideration. Selected artists will receive a solo exhibition in Gallery Aferro's main gallery, a 2,147 sq ft space with street-view windows and high ceilings. Artists should consider how their proposal will utilize the entire space, including the street-view platform, which is 10x30 feet. Read full listing…
