Making Spaces Residencies [ 2 November 2007 ]
WHO: visual artists and makers within commuting distance of Fife, who have experience of working with the public.
WHAT: 4 month part-time and 2 month full-time residencies accompanying MAC, Fife's mobile museum, to complement exhibition on where and how artists and makers work touring throughout Fife to schools and other community venues. Project organised by Fife Contemporary Art and Craft in partnership with Fife Council Museums (subject to confirmed funding).

WHO: artists living or working in the London region working in all forms of moving image practice. Awards are available to artists working in the context of contemporary fine art moving image practice and producing single or multi screen work and installations intended for exhibition in galleries, cinemas, festivals, specialist venues and as installations.
WHAT: London Artists' Film and Video Awards (LAFVA) is an open submission awards scheme offering funds up to a maximum of £20,000. Awards can cover full production costs or costs to complete existing projects.

WHAT: Bringing the outside in – window design and waiting area commissions for St Nicholas Hopsital, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

DETAILS: produce the designs for two large glass panels (approx 1.5 x1.9m) incorporated into two corridor windows. The designs will take inspiration from images already produced by some of the service users – incorporating natural plant forms.

Art in the Garden 2008 [ 1 January 2008 ]
WHO: Sculptors. Graduates and emerging artists.
WHAT: Now in its ninth year, Art in the Garden is curated by Underground Art & Design and presents outdoor contemporary sculpture and design led craft. Situated in the stunning grounds and setting of the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, a 180 acre garden paradise in Romsey, Hampshire.
WHEN: Work on display for the duration Sat 24 May – Sun 26 October 2008. All work must be suitable for exhibition outdoors and will need to pass a strict risk assessment. One Artist In Residence post is available for an artist who will work on an outdoor piece for one week from Mon 18 – Sun 24 August 2008, to include visitor participation on one day.
DETAILS: Work is displayed in a series of 'garden galleries' located throughout the Gardens and we are now accepting new ideas and proposals for 2008's exhibition including a gallery of using new technologies, recycling and sustainable materials.

WHO: craft curators and professionals in the UK wanting to develop ambitious and innovative exhibitions that engage with contemporary craft.
WHAT: the Spark Plug Award is a new annual award scheme that supports a minimum of four curators each year. Proposals must relate to an aspect of craft with craft practice at the core of the making process.
WHEN: £5,000 awards cover a fixed period of one year of research activity, during which time the awardees are required to research and develop an original exhibition project.

WHO: artists living or working in London. Black and minority ethnic artists are currently under-represented in our studios and we welcome applications from artists from these communities.
WHAT: Acme Studios is offering a free studio for two years plus a grant of £10,000 a year. This new residency (starting in September 2008) will be based at our new-build studios at Atelier Court, a ground-breaking partnership development with affordable housing provider Swan Housing Association, in Leven Road, Poplar, London E14. The development consists of 66 affordable housing units and 21 affordable studios. The residency is an opportunity for an artist involved with socially engaged practice to develop significant relationships, through their work, with local residents and the wider community. It also offers a significant financial and practical breathing space, allowing an artist to focus on the development of their practice.
