Arts Council Wales / Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru
The ACW is the national organisation with specific responsibility for funding and developing the arts in Wales, including the distribution of lottery money. It receives an annual grant from the National Assembly for Wales and additional support from other public bodies. It operates a number of grants schemes for artists and craftspeople and publishes newsletters and factsheets. The Visual Arts and Crafts Department division is based in the Cardiff office. There are also ACW offices in Carmarthen and Colwyn Bay.

Our aim is to enable artists and curators working in Wales to have access to current international contemporary visual arts practice, to experience the Venice Biennale and provide support to the delivery of Wales’ presence at the Biennale. Wales Arts International uses some of its strategic funds to support individuals and people from organisations to experience this key international event. This opportunity will possibly have significant importance for their professional practice and/or creative programme and will in turn support the development of the visuals arts in Wales.
