ICON The Institute of Conservation
Icon is the lead voice for the conservation of cultural heritage in the UK. As a charity, Icon is committed to public benefit through promoting public understanding of and access to all the diverse elements of cultural heritage. It brings together over three thousand individuals and organisations. Its membership embraces the wider conservation community, incorporating not only professional conservators in all disciplines, but all others who share a commitment to improving understanding of and access to our cultural heritage. The UK has a unique and privileged position, with an abundance of buildings and objects made in the British Isles over the centuries, as well as major public collections of artefacts from every civilisation known to the world.

Conservation Internships [ 7 June 2010 ]
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has funded Icon (Institute for Conservation) to run 20 new internships between September 2010 and March 2012, as an extension to its existing scheme. Icon is pleased to now offer 12 HLF internships - all are 12 months' duration and fully-funded with an educational stipend of £15,250 - to start in September 2010. Internship in Stained Glass Conservation [ 19 January 2009 ]
The Institute of Conservation (Icon) is advertising a unique six -month internship as part of the fourth year of its innovative scheme for broadening access to careers in heritage conservation and diversifying its workforce. Icon offers a bursary for a 6-month work-based internship starting in March 2009 in the studio of Jonathan and Ruth Cooke.
