WHO: artists.
WHAT: Caerphilly County Borough Council has secured funding from the Heads of the Valleys Artwork Programme for a piece or series of public artworks to sit within a proposed community garden in the north of the borough. The chosen artist will be required to design and implement a piece or pieces of imaginative artwork as an integral part of this regeneration project, and will also be required to work with the local community in order to develop proposals that reflect the site and the aspirations of the local community. The work may be functional, such as bespoke railings/seats, a trail of artworks, or one stand-alone piece forming a focal point in the garden.
WHEN: the project must be completed by the end of March 2009.
PAYMENTS: the budget for this project including collaboration, concept and detailed design, foundations, fabrication and installation is £25,000 excl VAT. Interviews provisionally mid-Nov 08.
