Ceramics Residency at California State University

WHO: artists who have finished their terminal degree (MFA) within the last 2 years or by the time of the residency. Preference given to those whose artistic practice involves some ceramic materials and process.

WHAT: residencies available at California State University Long Beach within the ceramics department. Ceramics at CSULB was initiated in 1949 and is currently housed in a fully equipped facility designed specifically for ceramics. It has grown to be in excess of 17,000 square feet with indoor and outdoor workspaces as well as 2 gallery spaces. There are approximately 30 operational gas and electric kilns and clay and slip mixing equipment.

WHEN: autumn semester 2009(Sept-Jan). Summer 2009 may be possible.

DETAILS: the residency includes access to private studio space, fully equipped studio, materials budget (to be determined), stipend (to be determined), exhibition opportunity at the end of the residency, public lecture on work (optional) and the possibility of teaching one class.
