Current2011- An Experiment in Collecting Digital Art

WHO: Experienced new media artists.

WHAT: Current is a unique partnership project between the Harris Museum & Art Gallery and folly to undertake an experiment in the collecting of digital art. Digital/new media artists are invited to apply, and must propose work that demonstrates innovative use of new media technology.This includes: digital arts, interactive art, net art, electronic art, multi and time based media, and any other relevant media. An expert advisory panel will select 3 – 5 artists to exhibit at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery from which one artwork will be selected by a secondary expert panel for acquisition into the Harris' permanent collection.

WHEN: 25 Mar – 4 Jun 2011

PAYMENTS: The artists selected for exhibition will receive a £1000 fee.The artist whose work is selected for acquisition will receive £10,000.
