Sue and I have arranged to meet early next week to spend the afternoon together in the print studio, and see what occurs from looking at each others work together…

In the meantime, I have worked on the images I am using as a base….mostly as gum arabic litho prints, with some chine collée and stencilling. Pam

I have been continuing with the linocuts I started last week, they are all pretty well finished now. Started putting them together today. Having printed them on acetate has allowed me to play around with them to see how they best fit together. unfortunatley I just can't find the best fit, I am struggling to find a way that the different images work together as a whole. As I write this I am beginning to get an idea of printing them together, but only using part of the image and cropping the rest off. This would give a more abstract feel. I still have the background to decide, almost certainly silk screen monoprint, and also the bet format to use!! So many decisions to make, so little time to do it! Whoever said art was restful!

I think of "sense of place" in terms of landscape, not a real landscape but an imagined one. I have made a small, very simple linocut in black and white. It has a house made of blocks with no windows. The landscape is dark and is creating a space for the house. I am interested in the idea of creating imaginary spaces. I am about to send the print to my partner Catherine. We agreed it would be interesting to both make a companion print in response to each others work.

I was going to settle down and print some of the lino plates I had prepared. But, I started playing with that last image and a screen print I made last week. It seemed to need something else so I added an etched image. A real mixed media mess of relief, screen, etch, mashed in digital.
