Looking at Alison's latest print it's interesting to see how our work is coming together. Looking forward to seeing where we can take this. So far we have been working by sharing ideas and images, as we are both working with the same media, is it time to produce some prints together?

From my image of the Mersey Flower I have created a repeat nostalgic pattern which evokes the spirit of 1960’s. Repeat pattern played a large part in my childhood because my mum was the manageress of a fabric shop and my dad was a painter and decorator. The sixties were full of floral images and flower power was at its peak, but for me nostalgic images of childhood are wrapped in the floral dress fabrics sewn by my mother.

Good days printing today. Beginning to put together the final response print. Multilayering with screen print, using gold leaf and linocuts. This image is one of the early stages, still have to finish doing various monoprints on the top of this. Really want to achieve a real feeling of depth by using a mulit- layered approach.

I'm still seeking my response to Sue's prints. Did a digital print of one this morning and tried painting over it with gouache…its quite loom-y

After exchanging prints with Don, my print partner, I had a good think about my reponse to Don's print. I too wanted to focus on my time in Brunei, having lived their for 4 years. After looking at Don's prints, it evoked memories of the Chinese culture that was all around us there. The lovely Chinese Temples, the vivid colour of them. It was this that has started me on the current journey for this second print. The base is screen print, with mixed media and linocuts.
