Utilising the corridor space opposite my artist studio seemed the perfect place to expand and branch out. I quite literally wanted to take my work ‘out of the box’ and give myself an additional area to mind-map through a mural of new sketches and drawings. In effect creating a collage of works that would give me the opportunity to ‘paint’ experimental abstracted forms.

My pop-up show was for one-day only and quite aptly named ‘A Temporary Surface’. Not only was the corridor a temporary surface but the nature of my materials – paper, wood and light were too.

Once again the landscape was my muse. Constructing a fantastical terrain was my aim, one in constant flux as I added and modified to the mural as the day went by. All in all I was happy with my new test-space and my work has moved forward already as a result.
