It didn’t snow! Weekend camping, visiting Baltic and seeing the sea – always difficult living in Nottingham, and trying to make sense of things. After a really good response to Play, a series of small sculptures that was shown at Project-Platform, Art Athena, I am thinking how this fits in with more recent work as this was undertaken a while ago. I (still) really like the work and have more understanding of the way the narratives can be understood in relation to the viewer which has always been an important part of my way of working. So, now I have tidied up my studio, and taken a wall down and replaced it, I will spend some time reflecting.

Spiderman meets Rosie and Jim! What an alarming scenario. Video tapes knotted to create a turret in a happy day in the studio followed by a couple of hours research in the library. Began Peter Osborne’s book, Anywhere or Not At All, in preparation for his talk at Nottingham Contempory this evening. Lots of these ideas relate to my thesis and looking forward to reading it at length.

Pleased to be selected for the Summer Lodge at NTU next month, think it will be a really productive time.

It all seemed so simple but technology – huh! I have been working on a new sound/video piece for Project-Athens Art Fair with the Harrington Mill Studio group, proposed by Jackie Berridge, thank you. Part of the problem was changing computers so original software wasn’t compatible and new versions on computer just different enough to be awkward, not quite blood, sweat and tears but definitely tears of frustration. Also pleased that the group has been accepted for Carnival of Monsters in Nottingham in Autumn, more thanks to Dee and Helen for the hard work put in.
