I’ve just come back from my second photoshoot for Hunting Razorbills (my current/new moving image work), which took me to the Firth of Forth to explore Bass Rock. This was my third attempt at reaching Bass Rock which had previously been cancelled because of heavy rain and wind forecasts- but third time lucky (and a change of boat) we made it!

Such an exhilarating experience seeing the hundreds of thousands of gannets who are still occupying Bass Rock (most of the other birds have migrated by now). With one arm holding tight to the boat side and the other clutching my 35mm film camera, I watched as these magnificent birds dove at high speeds into the sea and flew in hoardes above our heads.

Now back in London and developing all my negatives, I’ve already  planned my next trip to Hopeman at the end of the month for more Coastal explorations- my last chance for extra footage before the arduous hand-colouring process begins!

Just returned from my last photoshoot for my project Hunting Razorbills which took me back to the coastline of the Scottish Highlands. Another wet and cold shoot but very happy to get some last bits of footage before the weather really turns!

Now for the editing, printing and hand colouring process for each image (I have over 100!), but looking forward to being able to start piecing them together as one moving image- more to follow!
