In October last year, I bit the bullet and applied for the Crafts Council UK’s Mentorship Programme for Emerging Artists.  I was over the moon when I received the email saying that I was through to the interview stage and would have to travel from Bristol to London with a selection of my work.

At the interview for the South West Cohort, there was three other artists being interviewed.  All very talented in their individual materials, and nice people to boot.

My interview seemed to go really well, I didn’t allow the 6 faces staring at me, and asking questions, faze me too much.  Apparently, I even answered eloquently! This is something I am passionate about, so I am glad they saw that.

A month or so later I received the exciting email saying I had got in!!  I am so utterly over the moon.  I think this will really help my creative business develop in a professional, and strong manner.  We have already had two of our lesson days, which have been cram-packed full of information and advice.  I feel very fortunate for this opportunity and hope to use it wisely.
