Inspired by the KEW Royal Botanical Gardens in London, my latest project is to make art that reminds the audience of the pure beauty of nature. In this technological era humans are more likely to stare at a mass produced screen than a growing seed that has fought for its place in evolution.

Studying both my photographs from the gardens and primary plant sources my plan was to slowly abstract the images with a deep focus on colour theory and shape dynamics all derived from organic matter.

However, taking a step back I’ve realised observational drawing is a clear subject in itself, like colour, that cannot be combined so quickly with another discipline this early in the game with so little time. I want to closely get to know the agriculture in detail and create art that shows off the hard work the plant went through to grow in this everchanging atmosphere. I want to express the uniqueness in every flower and how their fragile appearance contrasts their strong ability to survive in this ever-growing cyber world.

The organic world deserves to be closely viewed and taken in with all senses.

Who am I to abstract nature the way nature intended nature it to be?
