This Is It Projects – T II P draws from psychoanalytical concepts applied to emerging art practice. T II P collaborate with artists and creative professionals who wish to capture and understand the meaning of their practical performance and craft. T II P provides a search light on the artist’s arc of experience. T II P’s Altérité Field Project, A F P was initiated in Margate, Kent at the beginning of Spring 2016. A F P explores the usefulness of how we inhabit, mediate and bridge our inner and outer, mental and physical ’potential space’. Altérité – ‘otherness’ from French translation is used as a philosophical term here, and later a state of submersion. A F P’s assumption is that artists develop a solitary practice of engaging in their self-self process of personal and artistic development early on; sometimes evolving self-esteem whilst in adverse and hostile environments. Through an ‘otherness’ lens and looking at the self-self loop, A F P may help in providing insights into the process and problem of artistic development. These insights may have evolved on a basic fault line where habits and blindspots have silently been cultivated.
