The idea arose upon the UK referendum, in which I could identify the feeling of betrayal, separatism and xenophobia that some Europeans where facing. Even though the politics were not and are not personalised or targeted towards them, somehow it created an uncertain feeling.

I was able to observe the anguish they felt when key discussions were taking place and their opinions were disregarded, without considering that the outcome of those conversations will have the exact same impact on them as the rest of the population.

My art work doesn’t describe those feelings or emotions, instead in telling their personal stories, I try to accentuate the human factor, the missing voice that they were not entitled to portray.

The art installation compiles 28 personal stories from volunteers from each of the European members. They will be embroidered in dual language (English and native language). English is the common denominator to all Europeans living in the UK and it has to take precedence by being on the top of the fabric, the bottom area is the translation in their native language.
