I’ve just been sorting some final preparations and materials for tonight’s underlined project open evening and exhibition opening, 4-7pm @ Central Library Hull.

Whilst planning the activity and community art-wall I’ve been thinking about how we celebrate the fact that each person matters and has a unique contribution to make to the community we share. This has got me wondering how different artists have made connections with those ordinary things – hands, phones, everyday items, that come to be part of our interactions with each other and the world.

Andrea Butner’s phone etchings remind us that each of us are more creative than we think.. tracing our unique mark on the world as we navigate our daily lives.

Lisa Milroy’s Search Me takes the small things, the everyday objects we might carry around with and us makes them into art.

Mark Titchner’s what I want more than anything else asked people in Hull this very question and got some very honest, moving and heartfelt answers. Often answers we can all on some level resonate with.

All of these artists work, and the unique input of all who attend this evening’s underlined project exhibition opening will feed into the free community artwork workshop 4-7pm Thursday 29th March 2018. Hope to see you there!
