Viewing single post of blog Walks and Tracks

The Motte and Bailey Castle, Castle Hill, Nether Stowey dates back to 12th century and disappeared around the 16th century.

Used mostly today for dog walkers and ramblers to walk around and scramble over. Sheep sometime graze there.

There are now specific tracks and pathways that lead around and up to the top. It’s rather like going on a pilgrimage.

Are walks pilgrimages?
Do we believe we are following in ancient footsteps, even if these tracks are newly made?
