‘BODY OF WORK (B o W)’, Oxford Brookes University MFA Fine Art Degree Show 2019
‘Body of Work (B o W)’ is an exhibition by 12 contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds and experiences who individually and collectively tap into some of the most pressing issues affecting humanity today.
Audiences will be exposed to a wide range of different artworks that focus on many topical issues. Each artist explores issues of truth, reality, political freedom and personal borders alongside the actual excitement of different mediums and techniques. The exhibition looks at how external influences; virtual reality, climate change, mental health, image and sound tracking in sports, the music industry, migration, all enhance, confuse and conflict with human needs through the exploration of painting, sculpture, photography, video and performance. The exhibition challenges our perceptions and belief systems situating hope and despair squarely side by side.
